Here are the answers to some common questions we get about IR safety.
Are the panels safe to touch?
You can touch an IR panel momentarily and not get hurt. It is hot enough you wouldn't want to keep your hand there but not hot enough to cause harm. Please read the instructions in terms of installation and operation, including limiting access to children and people with reduced physical or mental sensory capabilities.
Can you get sunburn from them?
Sunburn is caused by Ultraviolet, not by Infrared.
Do they emit EMFs?
Resistance-based heaters are in the lowest category of electrical devices as far as EMF emissions are concerned. Safety limits nonetheless exist and Herschel panels are tested for compliance and do not emit even 1/10 of the safety limit. They are consequently "Low Electrosmog" appliances.
Will they interfere with a pacemarker?
Infrared panels will not interfere with Pacemakers.
