Suggestion for installation improvement
Dear Herschel,
I received 2 panels today and found it rather perplexing that when the panel slides into the mounting frame the frame in relation to the panel is off-centre. It would be so much easier if you were to mark on the mounting frame in portrait and landscape where the centre of the panel would be when it is mounted.….shame but the A and B symbol on the frame could have been used to indicate the panel centre when mounted, but it doesn't…perhaps you missed a trick there!
I'll be ordering another 9 panels and controllers for my home and it would be so much easier with these markings….anyone else out there feel the same?
Best regards,
Dr. Robin L. Gilbert

Good afternoon Dr Gilbert,
thank you for your post. Because of the locking movement of the bracket, either the studs in the panel centre have to be off centre, or the bracket itself has to be off centre, or the bracket would have to be a lot bigger with the slots off centre in the bracket. We settled for option 2 and we don't get much pushback on that so long as the instructions are followed. The A & B orientation are important so the bracket is not mounted upside down. Granted a centre marking would be handy (as we have on our new Comfort range) so I will feed that back. Thanks for that suggestion.

Hi Richard, what are the A and B for ? I'm fitting on the ceiling and I don't understand if it makes any difference, on the Manual I couldn't find anything about

Hi Enrico,
The A & B make no sense to me either. I wanted the panels perfectly placed on the roof and because the panel slides on the mounting frame and offsets it when in the locking position, you need to mount the frame on the ceiling off set from centre. The easiest way I found to find the right position was first put the panel on the floor face down the way you intend to then place it on the ceiling and slide the mounting frame into the locking position. Then find the centre of the panel length and breadth and mark that centre on the mounting frame. Now you can line up this point on the ceiling centre point to have the panel after locking into the mounting be in the right position.
I hope that helps.
Best regards,
Robin

Hi Robin,
Many thanks for your answer
We have the 1100w ones and we really struggled to fit it in.
We managed to get the on the slots marking the distance of the panel edge on the ceiling but we couldn't slide them across, I thought was something to do with A and B. Or maybe we are pushing to hard towards the ceiling
Kind Regards
Enrico

Hi, sorry for replying so late. The A & B relate only to getting the correct orientation of the back plate when the panel is on a Wall (so the direction of locking is correct). On the ceiling neither has any relevance. I do note this is not in the instructions so I can correct those.
